How we are keeping you safe in the practice
Upon making your appointment, a member of staff will ask you a series of questions to decide the best method of seeing you. This is based on the government guidelines regarding your age, current health conditions and how urgent your appointment is. If we can perform a remote appointment via telephone or video call we will do.

It is best if you can call or email us to make your appointment to limit as much contact as possible but if you need to come into the shop, please be aware of the yellow tape on the floor in front of the reception desk. This is marked out at 2m to keep customers apart. Please be aware of other people that may be in the shop at the same time as you.

When you enter the practice there is a station with hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes if you would like to wipe down any of your personal belongings. Please use this as you enter the practice and also when you leave. We will ask you to take a seat at a designated spot at one of our desks, which are 2m apart. We are asking all of our customers to wear face masks in practice to try and keep everyone as safe as possible.
Things are working slightly different for when you have your test. The optometrist will try to spend the least amount of time in the confined area of the test room. But don’t worry, your sight test will be as thorough as it usually is. We have made our test times even longer to allow our staff to clean down the practice and the test room in between patients.

Once you have had your test, a member of staff will help you pick your glasses. All frames will have been disinfected from the previous customer. To help our staff we will ask you to leave any frames that you have tried on to one side so we can wipe them down afterwards.

you have chosen your glasses, a member of the dispensing team will take your measurements. All our staff have a face mask and will wear this when they need to be in close contact with you. We are encouraging patients to pay by card rather than cash as well.

When your glasses are ready for collection, a member of staff will call you and arrange a time for you to come in for your collection appointment. This is slightly different to how we usually work but it allows us to limit how many people are in the shop at one time. Your glasses will be fitted accordingly during your collection appointment but if they require further adjustments, please call us in advance so we can arrange a time for you to call in.
